At work I was chatting to Kristie and somehow we got talking about this girl from school who I haven't seen or thought about for about 3 years.
A few years ago, my group of friends went away on a debating trip for the day and left me by myself in the class. One of the girls who was usually quite nasty to us befriended me. Her name was Lauren. That day I learnt all kinds of things about Lauren which I never thought she was interested in. For one, she played soccer outside of school. From what she said, she sounded quite keen on the game and was even quite a star player. She even let me in on a few secrets about some of the other girls which were quite hurtful to be honest. To me, it was like meeting a whole new person.
The next day, my friends returned and everything went back to normal. Lauren was her usual nasty self again.
